Spiritual Care

Palliative Care Team at Hogarth Riverview Manor

In situations when death is expected, residents often want to remain in their home rather than be sent to a hospital. Nursing and Spiritual Care staff are trained in providing comfort and support to the resident and family.

At Hogarth Riverview Manor, palliative care is available and provided in the resident's own room. In addition, the Volunteer Services and Spiritual Care departments in partnership with Hospice Northwest recently developed a Palliative Care Volunteer Team. Every volunteer is certified through the Hospice Northwest Training Program. This training opportunity teaches the volunteers the necessary skills and knowledge required to confidently fulfill this position.

The purpose of the Palliative Care Volunteer Team will be to improve the quality of life for Hogarth Riverview Manor residents and their families, who are facing death and dying by providing an atmosphere of caring, compassion, commitment and spiritual support.
