A Masters level program which avails spiritual care interns with the opportunity to provide 10-15 hours of weekly service delivery to the Care Group residents/staff from the first week of October through to the end of April.
Offered in both the support group format by Katherine Smith as well as on an Individual basis by any one of the Spiritual Care Department members.
In the event of sudden unanticipated loss at the resident and/or staff level, various department members have been well trained in Critical Incident Stress Debriefing methodology and practice.
This is specialized counseling that includes a theological, spiritual, and/or faith tradition perspective as a therapeutic resource.
Frequently, staff is consulted on ethical dilemmas presenting at either the contextual or systemic levels.
Interpersonal and systemic impasses may manifest to such a degree that an external perspective is sought and experienced as beneficial to the acquisition of a new perspective. Staff is trained and able to respond to such circumstances.
The Department has also an accredited Marriage and Family Systems therapist, and is able to respond to resident and staff needs in this capacity.
A broad spectrum of human relations themes can be, and have been offered in these venues.
Staff can and do experience personal losses that instigate spiritual and/or emotional crises in their lives in the aftermath. Department members can and will respond.
