Program: Personal Development Program
Length: Six Sessions
Time: One and a half hours per week
Assertive behaviour encourages positive power on a personal level: at home, on the job, at school, in stores and restaurants, wherever the sense of personal insignificance or frustration is encountered. By developing the ability to stand up for yourself in and assertive way, you can cut down on personal stress and increase your sense of self worth. Our own needs are then being respected.
This course is designed to encourage participants to act in their own best interests and stand up for themselves. They learn to communicate their needs clearly and to respect the rights and feelings of other people. Giving and receiving compliments comfortably, saying "no, I'd rather not" in a respectful way, learning to deal with criticism, manipulative and constructive, are also some skills that are shared over the six sessions.
