Concurrent Disorders Program
The Concurrent Disorders Program offers services to individuals who are experiencing both an addiction and mental health concern. A diagnosis of a mental health issue is not a prerequisite. This program offers a variety of services including case management and individual counseling on an outpatient basis, mental health screening and referrals to other community based groups offered by the Sister Margaret Smith Centre, as well as to the residential treatment program. A twelve session Concurrent Disorders community based treatment group is also available to clients, to provide a supportive peer group setting in which participants can explore their Concurrent Disorders and the impact that they are having on their quality of life, as well as help them develop new alternative coping strategies in a safe environment. Referrals can also be made to the psychiatrist on staff one day per week for a one-time consultation.
