Selection of Tenants
The market wait list is maintained by PR Cook apartments chronologically (the date you apply is the date entered into the system).
The rent geared to income list is managed by the District of Thunder Bay Social Services Administration Board (DSSAB). It is generally maintained chronologically but exceptions can be made by the Administration Board. Staff at PR Cook do not have input into the DSSAB wait list.
When an apartment becomes available, the applicant is contacted and an interview is arranged with the Housing Manager and the Manager of Support Services. This will determine if PR Cook apartments can meet the applicant's need for independent living.
Upon a successful interview, the move in date is usually within 30 days.
