Hogarth Riverview Manor
Hogarth Riverview Manor was a result from an award of long-term care beds from the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care in April 1999. Construction began in September 2002, with occupancy on February 15, 2004. The Home has occupancy for 96 residents. Residents live in four Resident Home Areas, which promote a comfortable, familiar and home-like environment through building design, finishes and colours. Each Resident Home Area is home to a maximum of 24 residents. Home design is resident-centred, reflecting St. Joseph's Care Group's core values of Dignity & Respect. Residents' personal rooms and communal spaces will be spacious, home-like and designed to allow for privacy, as well as resident and staff safety.
The communal rooms and spaces are specifically designed to optimize flexibility, as the resident mix and resident needs change over time. Access to most resident day-to-day needs are within walking distance of residents' rooms. Lounges in the Resident Home Areas are designed to accommodate quiet activities (e.g., reading, listening to music, watching television) and allow for relaxed social interaction among residents, families and visitors. Most activity/therapy programs will take place in designated spaces within the Resident Home Areas.
Residents, families and visitors will have access to larger communal activity areas, both within the Resident Home Area and more central community spaces in the building to support a variety of special, large-group social functions. Amenities such as a main lobby/town square and café area, hair salon, gift shop, vending machines and chapel are accessible to residents and families and the community.
The design of outdoor spaces surrounding the facility allow for safe enjoyment of the outdoors by residents, their families and community programs. The facility is designed to maximize the view of the outdoors from bedrooms, dining rooms and other activity areas wherever possible. Social, psychological and physical benefits to residents through the therapeutic use of indoor greenery and outdoor spaces will be maximized.
At Hogarth Riverview Manor, air-conditioning is found in the hallways and common areas of the building. Individual resident rooms are not air-conditioned. There are individual temperature controls in each room.
At Hogarth Riverview Manor, the Auxiliary to St. Joseph's Care Group operates a gift shop and is involved with numerous activities and fundraising events. The Auxiliary enriches the quality of life for our residents immensely by donating funds to purchase many items for the home and by providing countless hours of dedicated service.
Hogarth Riverview Manor has a mix of basic and preferred accommodations available for residents. There are 40 basic rooms, 28 semi-private rooms, and 28 private rooms.
All rooms have one bed to a room; basic and semi-private share a washroom. The semi-private and private rooms include decorating amenities.
