Answers

1. How will I get there?

The client is responsible for transportation to and from the Day Hospital Program. Assistance will arrangement of transportation is available. Transportation options include: HAGI, taxi, city bus, walking and family members. Please inform us if you require a parking pass.

2. Where is Day Hospital located?

Day Hospital is located on the 5th floor of St. Joseph's Hospital. Clients who require assistance will be greeted at the Camelot Street entrance by staff member.

3. What do we do for lunch?

Lunch options include bringing your own lunch from home or purchasing through the hospital for a nominal fee. Clients will be billed at the end of the month.

4. What do we do on a typical day?
  • Group, chair and individual exercise.
  • Health information sessions.
  • Walking Program.
  • Therapeutic group and individual activities.
  • Individual assessment and treatment by health care team members.
5. Who will work with me in Day Hospital?

The inter-professional team includes:

  • Occupational Therapists
  • Physiotherapist
  • Social Worker
  • Therapeutic Recreationist
  • Registered Practical Nurses
  • Pharmacist
  • Rehabilitation Assistant
  • Geriatrician
  • Dietician
  • Spiritual Care Associate
  • Psychologist/Psychometrist
  • Speech Language Pathologist
6. Is there a fee for the program?

There is no fee for the program. Clients will be responsible for any costs related to transportation or lunch.

7. How can I enroll in the Day Hospital Program?

Clients must be referred by a physician.

8. How often do I attend?

Client will attend twice a week in either Tuesday/Thursday or Wednesday/Friday.

9. What if I need any assistance with personal care?

If required, assistance may be provided for removal of outdoor clothing and toileting.
