Non-Economic Loss Assessment (NEL)
When a NEL rating cannot be determined by the WSIB from the information on file, the worker is sent to a REC for an external assessment.
What happens during a NEL assessment?
The REC will schedule the assessment with one of the roster physicians as chosen by the Worker. The assessment is completed at the REC with the completed forms sent to the WSIB in order that they may make a determination for NEL benefits.
