At St. Joseph's Hospital, volunteers assist clients and staff in various capacities, in all services within the Rehabilitation and Complex Chronic Care programs. Most volunteer roles include direct involvement with the clients, either one-on-one or in group activities. Volunteers assist with physiotherapy, recreation, occupational therapy, nursing and speech language pathology services. They are active as visitors in spiritual and palliative care, assisting clients on the units and accompanying them to activities and appointments both within and outside the hospital. Some volunteer roles have less direct involvement with the clients, assisting with background activities such as organizing library, therapy and craft materials, folding newsletters, and recording minutes of the Residents' Council meetings. |

At St Joseph's Heritage, volunteers assist in the Alzheimer's Day Centre with music, crafts, outings, and various other activities. Volunteers are "friendly visitors" with some of the tenants at the P.R. Cook Apartments and assist with the aquatic recovery program at the Frank Murphy Community Centre. Support Services utilizes volunteers to enable them to meet individualized client needs and requests through enriched social programs, providing company on outings and appointments, and friendly visiting.
The majority of volunteers at the Heritage are involved with providing services to the residents of Bethammi Nursing Home, working one-to-one or in group activities. They assist with meal times, coffee and tea service, entertainment, outings, crafts, bingo, shopping, worship services, medical appointments, friendly visiting, special events, and more. Volunteers assist staff and families in providing a diversity of activities which enrich the lives of residents of Bethammi.

| As a volunteer at Hogarth Riverview Manor, you are an integral part of the team to ensure quality care by providing those additional services which enrich the lives of the residents. Volunteers have the opportunity to participate in many direct and indirect resident services. They assist residents with meals in the dining room, chapel services, walking programs, bowling, bingos, entertainment, community outings, special events, medical appointments, friendly visiting and much more. |
| There is also a strong, volunteer component in the fund-raising endeavours for the Care Group. The Auxiliary has been an active force in our community for over 100 years, and continues to raise thousands of dollars annually through their ongoing activities and events. |
