Volunteers add a dimension of community involvement to St. Joseph's Care Group and assist in relieving clients from feeling isolated from the community. Volunteers bring much information and insight to the objectives of the Care Group, joining us in meeting the needs and expectations of the community we serve.
Volunteers are active in a wide variety of areas within the Care Group. All volunteer involvement in the Care Group is an ongoing link with the community we serve. We encourage and appreciate the contribution of volunteers as an integral part of the services we provide.

Each potential volunteer will:
- Complete a volunteer application package
- Attend an interview
- Commit to a minimum of 1.5 hours weekly for a minimum of 3 months
Once the Coordinator has received the completed application form, including references, an interview is arranged. This provides the opportunity for discussing the prospective volunteer's interests, experience and availability and the variety of volunteer opportunities available, as well as the required qualifications and time commitments
Every attempt is made to place new volunteers in positions that suit their needs and interests as well as the needs of the Care Group.
After the interview, a reference check will be conducted before a placement is confirmed. An orientation and training session will be arranged for successful applicants.
