Patient Safety Indicators

St. Joseph's Care Group is committed to providing safe, high quality care to every client and resident. How well we accomplish that can be measured through the use of key indicators, or statistics, that compare our hospital with other health care facilities in Ontario and Canada.

This page includes a selection of indicators ranging from infection rates to hand hygiene compliance to mortality rates. We present this information because we believe in accountability and the importance of keeping our community informed on our challenges as well as our achievements.

The numbers and rates of new hospital-acquired infections detected in St. Joseph's Hospital and in the Lakehead Psychiatric Hospital will be posted here on a monthly/quarterly basis. We encourage you to talk with your doctor about our indicators and to contact us if you have any questions or concerns about our performance.
