Amputee Mentor
Provide clients with an opportunity for personal contact with supportive amputee who has had a positive rehabilitative experience and to provide hope, support and encouragement
Aquatics Recovery Program
Assist clients in carrying out designated exercise programs and support staff as required
Auxiliary Gift Shop Clerk
Provide assistance to clients, family and visitors in selecting and making purchases and to assist with fund-raising efforts of the Auxiliary to St. Joseph's Care Group
Auxiliary Nevada Booth Clerk
Sell break-open Nevada tickets to support the fund-raising efforts of the Auxiliary to St. Joseph's Care Group
Entertainer
To assist staff in providing music or singing for client's enjoyment on a regular basis
Feeding Companion
Provide assistance to residents at meal times, under the supervision of staff and provide companionship and conversation to the resident
Friendly Visitor
Provide an opportunity for socialization for clients, to increase their enjoyment and quality of life
Healing Gardens Assistant
Enhance SJCG grounds and provide an opportunity for socialization and involvement in special projects for clients
Hospice Northwest Visitor
Provide palliative services to clients and families of the Hospice Unit or nursing homes. Volunteers must be certified through Hospice Northwest. Click here for more information.
Medical Escorts
Provide support to clients and staff, by escorting clients to medical appointments on an on-call basis. Volunteers do not use personal vehicles as taxi service is arranged in advance.
Recreation Assistant or Special Events Assistant
Provide support and assist clients and staff with recreation activities to enhance client's quality of life or to provide support to staff on an on-call basis, assisting with special events.
Rehabilitation Assistant
Provide assistance to staff and clients with exercises in a rehabilitation gym
Speech Therapy Assistant
Assist staff with facilitating emergent literacy skills with large and small groups of Junior Kindergarten aged children
Spiritual Care Assistant
Provide support to staff by escorting clients to and from Chapel services and offer an opportunity for relationship and support to clients, increasing their quality of life and sense of purpose
Student experience opportunities
Academic requirements for secondary school 40 volunteer hours, university and college non-clinical programs, and High School Co-op programs.
St. John Ambulance Therapy Dog Volunteer
